Designathon
2 min read
I participated in CreateSC 2025, University of Southern California's design-a-thon, where I won 🥈 2nd place out of 300 participants! Our team collaborated to design innovative solutions focused on digitizing tangible experience. This hackathon emphasized creativity teamwork in a limited amount of time.
THE PROMPT
Design a digital interface that digitizes a tangible experience.
This year's theme was to identify a physical experience that has not yet been effectively represented in digital form and develop a functional interface that replicates or enhances the core components of that experience in a digital environment.
CONTEXT
What is a Hear Me Out?
TikTok has become a breeding ground for viral party games; short, chaotic, and wildly entertaining. One of the most popular formats is “Hear Me Out,” where players pitch unconventionally attractive people or characters (e.g., “Kung Fu Panda”) and try to win others over with bold reasoning.
INSIGHTS
Student leaders and friend groups struggle to easily facilitate and sustain engaging icebreaker games.
Setup is costly and time-consuming.
Difficult to find a time and location when every player is free.
No way to save or share moments unless someone manually records, takes photos or screenshots.
Players miss out on other “Hear Me Outs” when playing in large groups.
